CBC Music recently embarked on a mission to redesign its aging website and update it to modern web standards. The plan was to redesign the website using a responsive design philosophy and to create an experience that was cohesive across all devices. The problem with their plan was that they did not have enough internal resources to fulfill all of the goals of the project within the allotted time. With very short notice given the scope of the project Carmanah Digital Creative was contacted and took on the challenge.
In order to meet the goals of the CBC, Carmanah Digital Creative created a public facing web application that acts as an artist navigator and player (basically Soundcloud for Canadian Artists). With this application users can search and explore the whole database of over 46,000 artists, along with each artist's individual catalogue.
